There was no coming back from this for Leeds United’s Felix Wiedwald.

If Felix Wiedwald’s Leeds United career can be summed up in one photo then it is the picture above.
Wiedwald was moved on by Leeds yesterday with the Whites pushing him through the exit door towards Eintracht Frankfurt
It came in one of Leeds’ two defeats to Cardiff City, in the club’s defeat in Wales back in September.
On this occasion it saw Wiedwald collide with Leeds’ star defender Pontus Jansson, a defender whose role as star man waned as the campaign went on.
Much of Jansson’s troubles can be attributed to shaky performances of those around him, with Wiedwald failing to inspire any confidence and becoming a liability.

These pictures show Jansson and Wiedwald’s failure to communcate effectively, with the Swede left on the deck.
On this occasion Wiedwald actually escaped without conceding a goal. On others he was not so lucky.
The German made five errors directly leading to goals, and it could have been more if he was not dropped late in the season.
Leeds have done him a favour by moving him on, and with a reliable goalkeeper in between the sticks, Pontus Jansson may get back to his best next season.
