Celtic may have been beaten in extra-time during their 3-2 Scottish Cup semi-final defeat to Inverness Caledonian Thistle – and they may have had plenty of opportunities to change the course of events.
But one moment will still stand out as the one that changed the course of their treble dream.
Indeed, when Josh Meekings appeared to handle the ball on the line to stop Leigh Griffiths scoring, Celtic felt robbed.
Goalkeeper Craig Gordon was later sent off for conceding a penalty and Inverness eventually triumphed.
But how different would things have been had Celtic had decisions go their way?
During half-time of extra-time, the loyal Celtic faithful sang You’ll Never Walk Alone to inspire their players – at the same time as Liverpool fans were singing it at Wembley.
But it couldn’t do the trick as Celtic’s treble dream turned to dust against Inverness.
Some perspective, though: the Bhoys have already won one trophy and look close to wrapping up the Scottish Premiership. Now to go one step further next season. After all, it hasn’t been done since 2001.
