Tottenham Hotspur look to be without Mousa Dembele for their upcoming clash with Arsenal.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino suffered a major blow ahead of his side’s Premier League clash with Arsenal this weekend, with Belgian midfielder Mousa Dembele coming off injured just 30 minutes into Spurs’ match against Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday evening.
The 29-year-old had finally started to get a run of matches under his belt following suspension and minor injury, but a twisted ankle means he now looks set for another spell on the side-lines.
Even if it is only for a week or so, Dembele’s latest blow means he is highly unlikely to feature against Arsenal on Sunday, and how Tottenham could have done with him for that clash.

While Victor Wanyama has been superb since arriving at White Hart Lane, he cannot be expected to do everything on his own against an Arsenal side that has one of the strongest selections of central midfielders in the division.
Granit Xhaka and Santi Cazorla are expected to start this weekend, with Francis Coquelin and Mohamed Elneny also waiting in the wings, and whoever plays for the Gunners, they would have been severely challenged if Dembele had featured.

As it is, Wanyama will have to work extra hard, and it will be interesting to see just how things play out at the Emirates Stadium in a match Tottenham will be desperate to win to close the gap between themselves and their fierce rivals in a real six-pointer.
After all, whoever wins the midfield battle could ultimately secure three precious points and those all-important bragging rights.
