Tottenham Hotspur have a new star to get excited about.

Tottenham's Son Heung-min celebrates scoring their second goal

Tottenham Hotspur enjoyed their best performance of the season to date on Saturday when they humbled Stoke City 4-0 at the Britannia Stadium.

Harry Kane and Dele Alli – two of last year’s brightest stars – both got on the score sheet, but it was South Korea international Heung-Min Son who took the headlines with goals either side of half time to set Spurs on their way.

The 24-year-old arrived at White Hart Lane just over a year ago with a big reputation following his time in the Bundesliga. However he struggled for minutes in his debut campaign, still finishing with an impressive eight goals and five assists.

It was always going to take time for him to settle in a new country but a minority of Tottenham fans felt he was not up to the task, and manager Mauricio Pochettino was even tipped to sell him earlier this summer.

Thankfully for all concerned that did not happen, and on Saturday’s evidence Son is going to play a major role for Spurs both domestically and in Europe this season and beyond.
