Manchester United’s 16-year-old sensation could have a bright future at the club.

New Manchester United youngster Tahith Chong has been pictured on the Old Trafford bench after he was an unused substitute in the under-23 clash against Derby County earlier this week.

The Dutch midfielder may only be 16, but his presence on the bench for United’s second string proves just how much talent he possesses and how highly rated he is at the club.

Chong’s arrival at United slipped under the radar, which is no surprise when you consider Jose Mourinho spent big on Paul Pogba, Henrik Mkhitaryan and Erik Bailly while superstar striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic arrived on a free transfer. But in time the Netherlands under-19 international could make a big impact at the club.

Predominantly a left winger, Chong can also play on the opposite flank or centrally if required and it will be interesting to see how he does when he gets on the pitch for the under-23s in the months ahead.

He has already experienced a match-day at Old Trafford, albeit as a sub for the under-23s, but it was a tantalising early glimpse of his potential United future.
