With Liverpool set to face Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday 27th February, there are serious doubts over Diogo Jota and his fitness.

The £41m man injured his ankle in the 2-0 win over Inter Milan, and was later seen on crutches with his foot in a medical boot.

Now, however, a positive sign has been spotted on Instagram.

What’s the story?

Well, it wasn’t Jota himself who posted the encouraging photo, but instead, it was the Portugal international’s barber.

An Instagram page named ‘barbersno1’ posted a photo of the 25-year-old, along with the caption: ‘FINAL READY’.

Of course, Jota’s barber is not as clued up as Liverpool’s physiotherapists.

However, people – of course – like to chat to their barber about all sorts of topics during a haircut, so it’s possible that the ex-Wolves man confirmed his fitness during the trim.

Liverpool need Diogo Jota against Chelsea

Jürgen Klopp has a wealth of attacking options nowadays, with Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Roberto Firmino and Jota all at Anfield.

However, Firmino is also a doubt, whereas Diaz – despite his fast start – is still acclimatising to life in England.

Therefore, we feel the Reds need Jota to be fit to face Chelsea, as he’s a player who can grab a goal out of nothing – he only needs a glimmer of a chance to score.

If things go sour at Wembley, and the likes of Mane and Salah are struggling, Jota can conjure something out of thin air to help his side.

With three goals in three Carabao Cup games already this season, we’re confident Jota would add to that tally if he passes a late fitness test.
