Stuart Dallas was a rock for Leeds United on Sunday evening.
Leeds United came from behind to beat Wigan Athletic today.
Reece James fired the Latics into an early 1-0 lead at the DW Stadium, but Pablo Hernandez equalised for Leeds after just nine minutes.
Kemar Roofe, the Whites’ top goalscorer this season, then maintained his excellent form by netting the winner within a minute of the half-time restart.
All eyes were on Stuart Dallas before kickoff.
With Leeds suffering something of a crisis in regards to right-back options, Dallas was expected to deputise in the absence of Luke Ayling and Gaetano Berardi.
Despite the fact that Dallas is normally a midfielder, the Northern Ireland international proved his versatility with a wonderful display – and one mid-match photo in particular sums up his attitude.
The 27-year-old, who joined United in 2015 for £1.3 million [Sky Sports], celebrated Hernandez’s equaliser with a greater sense of passion than even the Spaniard himself.
Here are some pictures of the clash:
As a result of the win, Leeds moved back to the summit of the Championship table, with Marcelo Bielsa’s side ahead of Norwich City on goal difference.
All in all, United have been the best side this season, despite a series of injuries which threatened to derail their momentum, but it might well count for nothing unless the Whites are brilliant during the second half of the campaign too.
