With no games for Celtic or Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, Rodgers and Ferdinand were spotted at Swindon’s County Ground instead.
With no games for Celtic or Queens Park Rangers on Saturday, Brendan Rodgers and Les Ferdinand spent the afternoon in Wiltshire, taking in Swindon Town’s League One encounter against Charlton Athletic.

Bhoys boss Rodgers was most likely checking on his son Anton, who appeared as a late substitute for the Robins, with on-loan QPR pair Darnell Furlong and Michael Doughtly perhaps the focus of Ferdinand’s attention, as the R’s director of football.
However, with the January window not too far away, could the following deals have come up in conversation?
Tjaronn Chery – QPR to Celtic
The type of creative midfielder Rodgers is said to be pursuing, Chery is set to enter the final 18 months of his contract and could perhaps be prised away for the right price. The Dutchman, who arrived at Loftus Road from Virgil van Dijk’s old club FC Groningen in 2015, has scored four goals in 16 outings this season – adding to his tally of 10 from last term.
Likelihood? 6

Kristoffer Ajer – Celtic to QPR
Signed by previous Bhoys boss Ronny Deila ahead of the summer transfer window, the six-foot-five midfielder has barely featured for his new club and is open to a loan move in January. A spell in the Championship would perhaps toughen up the wiry 18-year-old.
Likelihood: 7

Steven Caulker – QPR to Celtic
With Kolo Toure’s contract up in June, could Rodgers sign another former Liverpool defender – albeit one he never managed – to replace him? Caulker has another 18 months on his deal, but is one of the R’s highest earners and could be moved on in the coming transfer windows.
