Solihull Moors defender Kevin Joshua has chosen to join West Bromwich Albion despite interest from a number of other Premier League clubs, as reported by All Nigeria Soccer.

After parting ways with former Baggies coach Jimmy Shan earlier this week, the Conference Premier outfit have now lost one of their biggest talents to the club situated some 25 miles down the M6.

19-year-old Joshua has spent the last month at The Hawthorns.

And, after impressing during a four-week trial, he has now been rewarded with a first professional contract at the Midland club.

The 6ft 6ins teenager will be a West Brom player until the end of next season, with AllNigeriaSoccer posting a photo showing Joshua putting pen to paper at the Premier League strugglers.

Interestingly, a number of other top flight clubs were keen to hijack the deal but Joshua felt that West Brom was the ideal club for him to continue his development.

You can see why.

Nathan Ferguson, Dara O’Shea and Kyle Edwards all became first-team regulars after rising through the ranks with the Baggies.

And, even if Joshua does not make the grade at West Brom, that does not mean he will not become a big hitter elsewhere.

Kemar Roofe is now a Scottish Premiership champion with Rangers while Chris Wood has blossomed into a top-tier striker at Burnley.

And Romaine Sawyers returned for a second spell at West Brom last summer after making his name at Walsall and Brentford.
