The Sheffield Wednesday captain was present as Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne tied the not.
Sheffield Wednesday captain Glenn Loovens has posted a photo of himself on Instagram alongside Kevin de Bruyne at the Manchester City star’s wedding.
The Dutchman was present as De Bruyne and Michele Lacroix tied the knot earlier this week, and wrote alongside the image: “Congrats to this lovely couple. The day has been amazing. Enjoy it guys”.
The 33-year-old’s relationship with De Bruyne – for whom City paid £54.5 million two years ago according to Sky Sports – is not obviously evident, with the pair’s careers yet to intertwine.
Loovens is due to start pre-season training with Wednesday next week, less than two months after the Owls were defeated by Huddersfield Town in the Championship play-offs.
Carlos Carvalhal’s side have finished sixth and then fourth these past two seasons, and are expected to compete for promotion once again this coming campaign.
Wednesday are yet to recruit any new players this summer – and it goes without saying that De Bruyne will not be among those who eventually arrive at Hillsborough.

Loovens’ Owls colleague Jose Semedo is close friends with Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo, while another of their teammates, Fernando Forestieri, met former Barcelona superstar Samuel Eto’o during last year’s off season.
Will Sheffield Wednesday make it third time lucky in 2017-18?
