Sebastian Larsson was back in action for Sunderland last night.
Sebastian Larsson continued his comeback from injury by starting for Sunderland’s under-21 side last night.
The midfielder had been out of action since November, before coming off the bench for the last 14 minutes of Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Southampton.
He played all 90 minutes of last night’s match, in which Ola Toivonen also featured and scored twice, as the team beat Everton 3-2.
Larsson has made five starts this season plus a further seven appearances from the bench, and getting him back for the relegation run in is a big boost for the Black Cats.
He even provided an assist for youngster Tom Beadling to score from close range.
Sunderland do not have a Premier League fixture until March 20 when they face rivals Newcastle, and Larsson will hope his successful run out is enough to play him into contention for a start in the must win game at St James’ Park.
