Rangers ace Myles Beerman was called up by Malta.
Rangers’ Myles Beerman in action with Celtic’s Patrick Roberts
Myles Beerman broke into the Rangers first team at the end of last season and his performances have earned him a senior international call up.
The teenager hails from Malta, and Beerman joined up with the squad over the weekend ahead of their match with Ukraine.
Upon joining the squad, Beerman has undergone a little transformation – he has had his head shaven by teammates as part of an initiation for winning his first cap.
Beerman’s new haircut caught the attention of Gers teammate Josh Windass, who indicated there was no chance he would undergo the same treatment.
There may not be as much competition for a Malta call up as there is for a Scotland one, but Beerman’s recognition is well deserved after his big breakthrough.
It does mean that he will be returning to Rangers later than the rest of the team with pre-season already beginning this week due to their early Europa League fixtures.
Yet if it means he comes back refreshed and more confident later on, it could well pay dividends later on this season providing he can reclaim his place.
