Rangers boss Mark Warburton convinced Barton to swap Burnley for Rangers this summer.

England get their Euro 2016 campaign underway this weekend when they face Russia in Marseille and whilst Glasgow Rangers may be a Scottish side there will be plenty of players at the Ibrox club hoping England can get the win.
English boss Mark Warburton has brought in plenty of players from south of the border to Ibrox recently, including this summer’s biggest recruit Joey Barton.

The former Burnley man arrived on a free transfer earlier this month, with Rangers looking to strengthen their midfield ahead of a Premiership campaign.
Barton is in fact in Marseille for the game and it seems the Rangers newbie took a chance to check out one of his old stomping grounds whilst in the South of France.
The Rangers star sent out this Instagram earlier today, as he visited the training ground of his former club Marseille:
Barton joined the French side on loan in 2013 after falling foul of the management at QPR and has since turned his career around once again – culminating in a magnificent campaign in the Championship last term with Burnley.

Now he is at Rangers fans will be hoping the midfielder one day treats the Ibrox club with the same affinity he still has for l’OM – even if they hope Russia leave him disappointed tomorrow evening.
