Rangers fans took a swipe at Steve Clarke in the form of a banner today.
The Kilmarnock manager claims that he was the victim of sectarian abuse during his side’s 5-0 defeat at Ibrox earlier this week.
He also said that Scottish football was in the ‘dark ages’ [The Daily Star], before hinting that he turned down the chance to become Rangers boss last year.
Gers chairman Dave King issued an apology to the 55-year-old manager, though fans of the Glasgow giants stoked the fires again by unfurling a banner which read ‘Get well soon Steve Clarke’ during this afternoon’s win at Hamilton.
On the pitch, it was brilliant from Rangers, who dismantled Hamliton en route to a 4-0 lead at the break after goals from Ryan Kent, Jermain Defoe, Scott Arfield and James Tavernier.
Gerrard’s side wound up winning 5-0, with Kyle Lafferty adding a fifth as the Gers moved five points behind Celtic, who play later this afternoon.
