Rangers striker was suspended for Scottish Cup semi-final as Steven Gerrard’s side slipped to defeat.

Glasgow Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos endured a miserable afternoon watching his side slip to a Scottish League Cup semi-final defeat.

Morelos was suspended for the fixture after picking up a yellow card in Rangers’ quarter-final win over Ayr.

It proved costly, with Rangers teammate Kyle Lafferty cup-tied, meaning Steven Gerrard was without the team’s two first choice strikers for the crucial game.

Rangers slipped to a 1-0 loss to Aberdeen, missing out on a final date with Celtic.

Morelos was seen on television in the games’ final stages looking utterly deflated.

Rival fans had absolute field day…

In some ways its better for Rangers to see Morelos looking miserable than laughing and joking, and fans will hope that he has now learned a harsh lesson.

His talent is often blighted by moments of ill discipline and on this occasion it has cost Rangers. The hope is that it will not happen again.
