Leeds United beat Guisley 5-1 in a pre-season friendly this afternoon.
Leeds United got their pre-season campaign underway with a fine 5-1 victory away to Guisley this afternoon.
Two goals from Stuart Dallas and another from Marcus Antonsson helped Leeds into a 3-1 lead at half time, before head coach Thomas Christiansen made 11 changes at the break.
The wholesale changes seemed to stifle the Whites’ momentum going forward, but a double from Lee Erwin in the final half-an-hour put gloss on the victory.
There was a brief stoppage during the first half when a Leeds fan threw a blue flare on to the field, and it was removed by none other than centre-back Pontus Jansson.
According to Phil Hay of The Yorkshire Evening Post, the Sweden defender held it “aloft” and threw it off the field of play – and photographs of the incident show a smiling Jansson holding the object at Guisley.
