Leeds have announced Paul Heckingbottom as new manager.
Leeds United have confirmed the appointment of Paul Heckingbottom as manager.
Heckingbottom replaces Thomas Christiansen who was fired on Sunday night.
Leeds have not won a game in 2018 and lost 4-1 at home to Cardiff City on Saturday.
Heckingbottom joins from Barnsley, where he was appointed in 2016.
He led the Tykes to promotion from League One, and Leeds will hope he can spark an improvement in form which gets them back into the play-offs.
Despite their woeful recent run, Leeds sit in 10th place and could quickly get back into contention with a good spell of form.
Leeds paid Heckingbottom’s release clause of £500,000 to seal his move from Barnsley.
He had signed a contract with Barnsley only last week, on a one year rolling contract.
