Liverpool youngster steps up to first team role.
Liverpool youngster Paul Glatzel was among the academy players to step up to train with the club’s first team on Monday.
The 17-year-old forward has been in impressive form this season for Liverpool’s under-18 side.
Glatzel has scored six goals in four games for the under-18s so far this season.
The young forward was born in Liverpool but is half German and is yet to declare international allegiance.
Also in training yesterday was young left-back Adam Lewis, who is getting closer to competing with Alberto Moreno for the back-up spot behind Andy Robertson.
Glatzel’s emergence as a force for the under-18s has helped the Reds cope with Rhian Brewster’s long term injury which has kept him out all of 2018.
A step up to the under-23s beckons if he continues to shine at under-18 level.
