Crystal Palace’s Patrick van Aanholt and DeAndre Yedlin of Newcastle United played together at Sunderland.

Crystal Palace and Newcastle United faced each other in the Premier League at the weekend.
The Eagles and the Magpies are fighting for survival in the English top flight, and the game at Selhurst Park on Sunday afternoon ended in a 1-1 draw.

The match also saw former Sunderland teammates Patrick van Aanholt and DeAndre Yedlin come up against each other.
While 27-year-old left-back Van Aanholt lined up for home team Palace, 24-year-old right-back Yedlin turned out for visitors Newcastle.
While the two defenders competed against each other during the match, after the final whistle, they exchange shirts and appeared friendly with each other.

The result on Sunday keeps both Palace and Newcastle in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
The Eagles, though, will feel confident of escaping the drop, as they have recovered well since the opening weeks of the campaign when they were struggling to score goals or bag a point.
