A Fraser Forster debut for Tottenham Hotspur against Arsenal is looking like a possibility on Saturday.

Spurs are gearing up for a visit to their North London rivals and with Antoino Conte failing to confirm whether Hugo Lloris – who pulled out of the France squad earlier this month [The Athletic] – is available, the former Southampton goalkeeper could make his first appearance.

Forster joined Tottenham on a free transfer this past summer but has found himself behind Lloris in the pecking order in the Premier League and Champions League.

The England international is an absolute unit though, evident by a training-ground photograph of him alongside Matt Doherty that the Lilywhites released today.

Even sitting upright, Forster, who is 6 foot 7 inches, looks a massive figure when compared to the Tottenham right-back.

Despite being second choice, Antonio Conte has an excellent reserve option here – and even Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta knows that.

Toward the end of last season, Forster produced a stunning display as the Saints secured a 1-0 victory over Arteta’s side in a defeat which ultimately contributed to the Gunners missing out on Champions League qualification.

He clearly enjoys facing Arsenal and if he does play tomorrow, well Conte will be hoping and praying that he can reproduce his heroics of that occasion, this time at the Emirates Stadium.
