Salomon Rondon made his competitive debut for Newcastle United at the weekend, as the West Bromwich Albion-owned striker featured in the Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur.

Rondon, who joined Newcastle on a season-long loan deal from Championship club West Brom in the summer transfer window, came on as a substitute against Tottenham at St. James’ Park on 59 minutes on Saturday afternoon.

The 28-year-old striker’s debut for the Magpies was quite good, as the Venezuela international looked lively and also came close to scoring.

The former Zenit Saint Petersburg star – who earns £60,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – did look frustrated during the match, though, as the Magpies lost 2-1, as shown in the following photo.

It will be interesting to see if Rondon starts for Newcastle against Cardiff City away from home at the Cardiff City Stadium in the Premier League next weekend, especially as Joselu played well against Tottenham and also scored for Rafael Benitez’s side.
