New Manchester United player Josh Doughty has been photographed wearing a crest-emblazoned jacket at the club’s most recent under-18 match.
Back in November, a young Canadian-born footballer prompted headlines aplenty when he revealed that he had passed a medical at Manchester United.
Josh Doughty is a 17-year-old midfielder who previously played for Real Salt Lake City but this week he was photographed at United’s under-18 match against Stoke City.
While reporting on the match, United-dedicated Twitter account The MUFC Academy also took the time to post a photograph of Doughty himself wearing a jacket emblazoned with the club’s crest, along with the suggestion that the player is hopeful of receiving international clearance to play next month.
Doughty’s situation appears similar to another United youngster, Timothy Fosu-Mensah, who signed for the club back in September but had to wait two months before he was eligible to play.
Fosu-Mensah played in United’s 2-0 win on Saturday, a match Doughty seemingly watched while patiently waiting for his own chance to impress.
