New Arsenal signing Konstantinos Mavropanos has been pictured in training with his new side.
Mavropanos became Arsenal’s first signing of the transfer window last week when he signed from PAS Giannina.
Mavropanos is a centre-back although it is unclear at this stage whether he will be considered for first team selection.
Arsenal face Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg this evening, but the best Mavropanos can likely aim for is a place on the bench.
It would be a big risk for manager Arsene Wenger to throw him in, with confidence in the Arsenal side low after their woeful FA Cup exit at the hands of Nottingham Forest.
The signing of Mavropanos drew criticism from fans who have been frustrated by a lack of ambition by the club in the transfer market, but the Greek defender is at Arsenal on merit, and may go on to prove a shrewd addition if given time.
