Everton attacker is hoping to earn a starting role this weekend.

(EXCLUSIVE COVERAGE) Bernard poses for a photo as he signs for Everton at USM Finch Farm on August 9, 2018 in Halewood, England.

Everton new boy Bernard is hoping to be involved for the Toffees this weekend when they take on Bournemouth.

Bernard signed for Everton on deadline day and has been getting up to speed in training.

He signed a free agent meaning he is behind on fitness after spending July without a club and not getting a full pre-season.

The Brazilian posted a photo of himself training for Everton, alongside fellow new boy Kurt Zouma.

Bernard was one of Shakhar Donetsk’s biggest stars over the last few seasons and Everton beat intense competition to win his signature.

He did not even make Everton’s bench at the weekend against Southampton, and nor did Kurt Zouma.

If even one of the pair is included in the matchday squad away to Bournemouth it will be a step in the right direction and give fans extra reason to be excited.
