The Norway international opened his account for Celtic last night.

Mohamed Elyounoussi scored his first goal for Celtic on Thursday – and he looked over the moon.

The 25-year-old scored the second goal in a 2-0 Europa League win over Cluj at Parkhead last night.

He had a couple of assists under his belt, but this was the first time that the Southampton loanee found the net for Celtic and his reaction said it all.

Elyounoussi, who cost the Premier League side £16 million [BBC Sport], picked the ball up on the edge of Cluj’s penalty area and drilled a left-footed effort past the rooted keeper.

Here’s how he reacted to the goal:

For all intents and purposes, Elyounoussi is a £16 million player and he certainly looked it last night.

It’s early days, and of course he does not belong to Celtic, but it looks like Neil Lennon could have a serious player in the Norway international this season.

Cluj are a very decent side, as the Parkhead faithful know too well after their elimination from the Champions League in August, but Elyounoussi bossed them and if he can maintain that standard throughout the campaign, Lennon would surely love to keep him beyond the end of his loan.
