Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil’s injury return still may not be as close as he would like.
Mesut Ozil raised the hopes of fans this week when he said he was working on a ‘quick recovery’ from his knee injury.
The German international continues work daily to get match fit, but his latest update suggests there is still a way to go.
Ozil was originally ruled out for 10-12 weeks, and despite his eagerness to make it back for the Gunners, it appears to remain a challenge.
The World Cup winner posted a photo to his Twitter page on Thursday afternoon, displaying himself working out, but crucially, he can still be seen wearing a knee brace.
It does not appear to prevent him exercising, but certainly he remains some way off a return for Arsenal on the pitch until he shows some medical improvement.
Mentally he is itching to get back out there, but the 25-year-old must remain patient and cross his fingers his body allows him to make it back before 2014 comes to a close.
