Marko Arnautovic was not pleased that he was taken off during West Ham United’s FA Cup third round tie.
West Ham got back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory in their FA Cup third round tie with Birmingham at the London Stadium on Saturday, but it seems that not everyone involved with the Hammers was happy during the win.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side are in the hat for the fourth round thanks to goals from Marko Arnautovic and Andy Carroll. But the West Ham boss managed to annoy one of the goalscorers with a decision taken during the first-half.
Arnautovic broke the deadlock inside two minutes against the Championship side, but was not on the pitch for much longer as he was substituted after 20 minutes.
The Austrian is working his way back from an injury that kept him out for most of December and went into the clash with the Blues having played 90 minutes against Brighton on Wednesday.
With Pellegrini suggesting after the game, in comments reported by Football London, that Arnautovic had been concerned about a back problem shortly before being replaced, it seemed to be a sensible decision to take him off when he did.
But Arnautovic clearly did not see things that way initially.
Pellegrini admitted that Arnautovic was angry about the decision for a minute, and that comes across in some of the images from the moment he was taken off when he can clearly be seen exchanging words with his manager…
