Leeds United have announced the signing of Kalmar striker Marcus Antonsson, their first transfer of the summer and of the Garry Monk era.
He arrives on a three-year deal, subject to international clearance,
The Swede had been linked to Elland Road over the last couple of weeks, with reports emerging in Swedish publications such as Aftonbladet stating that a deal between the Allsvenskan top scorer and the Yorkshire giants was very much on the cards.

The forward had previously worked under assistant manager Pep Clotet while at Halmstads earlier in his career, but he has blossomed since the Spaniard coached him, and has displayed superb goalscoring form over the last couple of seasons, leaving the Guldfageln Arena with 22 goals in 40 games, including 10 in 12 league matches this season.
And Leeds fans should have plenty to get excited about, with the 25-year-old currently the top scorer in Sweden despite turning out for a team who have struggled in the last few seasons and would maybe view their current mid-table position as satisfactory.
Antonsson himself narrowly missed out on his country’s European Championships squad, and with superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic retiring, will be conscious that an impressive start at the Whites could see him given the chance to replace Sweden’s record goalscorer in the national team.
