Marcos Rojo got new boots just a day after making his debut for Manchester United.
Marcos Rojo may have played just one match for Manchester United, but he has already got new boots.
On Monday, the Argentina international defender posted the following photo on Instagram along with the message: ‘My new boots mercurial thanks nike !!’
Not that Rojo needed new boots to impress the United fans or enhance his performance on the pitch.
The 24-year-old made his debut for the Red Devils against Queens Park Rangers at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday, and gave a memorable performance.
The £16 million summer signing from Sporting Lisbon started the match at left-back – he can play as a left wing-back and as a centre-back as well – and was a figure of stability throughout the 90 minutes.
Rojo looked solid at the back and also ventured forward when he thought it was appropriate to do so.
True, there were some areas that he could have done better (as shown by the stats below), but he did have a debut performance to savour, especially as United eased to a 4-0 victory.
| Total Cross | Accurate Cross | Error Lead To Shot | Total Tackle | Won Tackle | Total Clearance | Interception | Apps | Mins | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Marcos Rojo | 3 | 1 | 0 | 2 | 1 | 2 | 3 | 1 | 90 |
Rojo and the United fans will now hope that the new boots help him get ever better next time he features for the Manchester outfit.
