Liverpool had a number of absentees for their FA Cup encounter tonight.
Two of the most notable ones were Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
Salah has a slight knock, according to Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, who also revealed before the game that Mane had been rested.
However, Andy Robertson was also conspicious by his absence.
The Scotland left-back has been a revelation for Liverpool since joining in 2017, a real mainstay in the German’s outfit.
And Klopp has hinted to ITV Sport that Robertson might have returned a positive coronavirus test, claiming before the game that ‘it finally got him’.
It’s unclear whether the Liverpool manager is refering to covid or not.
But the former Hull City defender is with his teammates in spirit.
Here’s a three-word message he posted on Instagram before kickoff tonight, writing ‘Good luck lads’:
There’s a degree of good fortune about Robertson’s absence.
Well, getting the coronavirus is obviously bad luck, but it’s good luck that he had a ready-made replacement.
Up until today, Kostas Tsimikas had been a doubt to face Nottingham Forest, but the Greece international started at left-back ahead of his Scottish counterpart.
