Last night, Liverpool had scouts in attendance at the Estádio da Luz as Benfica humiliated Barcelona in the Champions League.

Ronald Koeman’s side suffered a 3-0 defeat, but one man Liverpool might’ve been watching didn’t let anyone down.

What’s the story?

Well, we’ve been trying to think of who the Reds were scouting.

You can see a photo of the full list of club scouts below.

One player who’s believed to be in Liverpool’s sights is Pedri, the 18-year-old sensation who took EURO 2020 by storm.

It was the Mirror who made the claim, and also revealed that the teenager has a release clause worth £70m in his contract.

It would usually seem like an impossible signing for Jürgen Klopp.

However, Barcelona’s financial issues have been well documented, so they would surely have to consider a huge offer for the sake of the club’s future.

How did Pedri play in front of Liverpool scouts?

The 10-cap Spain international only played 68 minutes before being withdrawn by Koeman, although he did well.

Pedri slid a superb through ball to Frenkie de Jong, who squared for Luuk de Jong to tap into an empty net.

Somehow, the Dutchman missed.

Additionally, Barcelona’s No.16 made three successful tackles, completed 82.2% of his passes, and had 57 touches of the ball (WhoScored).

Amid chaos for Barcelona, Pedri brought calm – Liverpool’s scouts were surely impressed, if they were in Portugal to watch him, that is.
