Liverpool are into the Champions League semi-finals.

Liverpool players celebrated joyfully after booking their place in the Champions League semi-finals.

The Reds beat Manchester City 2-1 at The Etihad, finishing the job after a terrific 3-0 win a week ago.

The game got off to a terrible start for Liverpool as they conceded to a Gabriel Jesus goal in the opening stages, but they rallied an fought back to reach the final four.

The win saw former Liverpool player Raheem Sterling bow out of the competition, and he was not the only ex-Red to have a bad night.

Barcelona lost 3-0 to Roma, giving up a 4-1 first leg lead, and went out on away goals.

This saw Luis Suarez eliminated, along with Coutinho, who left Liverpool in January and could only watch from the sidelines as he was cup-tied.

All Sterling, Coutinho and Suarez felt they were moving on to better things. Last night suggested that’s not the case.
