Leeds United youngster was already a long shot for first team action.

Bailey Peacock-Farrell is hoping to get back into the reckoning at Leeds United.

The young goalkeeper had a screw inserted as part of a bone graft operation after breaking a bone in his hand back in October.

Now the 20-year-old has offered an update on Twitter, relaying that his cast is now off and he can step up his recovery.

Peacock-Farrell made his first team debut for Leeds United in the Championship last season under Steve Evans, but has not made an appearance this campaign.

He had the chance to leave Leeds as a free agent in the summer but extended his contract with the club, signing until 2018.

Leeds signing Robert Green in the soon after put paid to his hopes of first team action, and with Marco Silvestri retained, the youngster was demoted to third choice.

Even before his injury, Silvestri had been given the nod in EFL Cup games, but with a potential return to fitness a few weeks away, the youngster will hope he can force his way onto the bench by impressing Garry Monk in training and take it from there.
