Leeds United defeated Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 on Saturday and their players were clearly elated.
Leeds United earned a well-deserved victory against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, with Charlie Taylor and Steve Morison proving the goal-scoring heroes.
They may have been unlikely goal-scorers, given Taylor’s inexperience and Morison’s poor form this season, but the two men were greeted with an elated group of supporters as they celebrated the opening goal.
The result means Leeds end an alarming run that saw them fail to win any of their previous six Championship matches, and it also gives manager Neil Redfearn a welcome boost at exactly the right time.
Leeds have a hugely talented young squad and many of those players were on show against Wednesday, and it is thanks to @MattCording that we can bring you the picture above of some of Leeds’ stars sharing the joy with their passionate fan-base.
Leeds have just one match left this season, and then it is down to a summer of focus and team-building, with Redfearn needing only time and faith from the club’s hierarchy to ultimately bring top-flight football back to Elland Road.
