Leeds United fans are hoping that Toumani Diagouraga is handed a chance by Thomas Christiansen.

Leeds United’s forgotten man, Toumani Diagouraga, has been pictured back in training for the Whites today (shown above, left).

Leeds’ players returned to pre-season this morning, and they underwent a series of test to assess their fitness levels.

Diagouraga spent the back end of last term on loan at Ipswich Town, with his future at Elland Road still far from certain.

Many Leeds fans appear to have forgotten Diagouraga was even on their books. However, now he is back in training with the Whites, there is a great deal of support for the 30-year-old to be given another chance by new boss Thomas Christiansen.

Diagouraga was handed an important role at Leeds by Steve Evans, but Garry Monk clearly had reservations over the central midfielder.

Whether Diagouraga will be able to force his way back into Leeds’ plans under Christiansen remains to be seen.

Diagouraga faces competition from the likes of Kalvin Phillips, Liam Bridcutt and Ronaldo Vieira for a central midfield spot.
