Mateusz Klich has been a huge player for Leeds United this season.
Originally, it seemed like Mateusz Klich’s career had taken a big backwards step after joining Leeds United.
The 28-year-old midfielder made only four Championship appearances for the Whites last season following a £1.5 million summer move, before being loaned to Utrecht in January.
Leeds fans could have been forgiven for thinking that they would never see him in a United shirt again, because that sort of thing happens quite a lot.
But fast forward nine months and Klich is a massive player for the Elland Road side now, having netted three goals – all openers – in six Championship starts for top-of-the-table Leeds.
His resurgence has brought about a return to the international fold and the Poland midfielder earned his first cap in four years against Italy last night.
In one picture, Klich was photographed competing with Jorginho, a £58 million signing by Chelsea this past summer, and the fact that he is playing against such stellar opposition is a perfect illustration of how far he has come in 2018.
