The Curacao international is now fit to play for Villa again.
Aston Villa take on Brighton this evening in a big Championship clash. Villa are hoping to continue their resurgence under Steve Bruce whilst Brighton are looking to continue their march toward potential automatic promotion.
On top of that there is extra spice to the game with Brighton assistant Colin Calderwood seemingly on his way to Villa Park to take up a similar role at the club.
Leandro Bacuna of Aston Villa (L) and Johnny Russell of Derby County in action
With the game approaching Villa have of course been hard at work in training this week, including a player on his way back from injury.
Leandro Bacuna has been out of action with a groin problem since the start of the month but the Curacao international has recovered from the problem over the international break and is fit to feature v Brighton – as this picture from the official Aston Villa Twitter account highlighted:
Bacuna has often been a maligned member of the Aston Villa team but his versatility can be a vital tool for Aston Villa and it will be interesting to see if he makes the match-day squad for this evenings game at the Amex.
