Newcastle have snapped up Spanish youngster Juanito.
Spanish teenager Juanito has confirmed his transfer to Newcastle United.
The youngster posted an image on Twitter at the stadium, along with a short message.
His message read: “Many thanks to all the NUFC for the welcome, it’s a pride to defend this badge!!”
Spanish newspaper Sport reported at the end of November that Newcastle had signed the 17-year-old, after reaching an agreement with his club Recreativo de Huelva.
The youngster’s full name is Juan Jesus Nunez Cumbrera, and Huelva24 reported Juanito begin training with Newcastle’s under-23 team.
Now he has seemingly completed his switch and will start working with his new coaches and teammates.
Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez
Juanito’s signing is evidence of manager Rafa Benitez putting his blueprint for long term success into place.
While there is no guarantee the youngster will develop into a superstar, the fact Newcastle are scouring Europe and attempting to sign promising young talents shows that they are planning for the future as well as simply to win promotion and survive in the Premier League next season.
