The Arsenal midfielder gave Barkley a not-so-warm welcome in the latter’s first game since leaving Everton.

While Jack Wilshere’s impressive display may have secured Arsenal’s place in the final of the Carabao Cup, it is the Everton supporters on whom he arguably made the best impression.
And it was one tackle in particular which delighted the Everton fanbase, earning himself a yellow card and leaving his Chelsea adversary Ross Barkley hurtled skywards like a cyclist attempting to cross three lanes of rush-hour traffic.

Barkley was making his debut for the Blues, just weeks after a controversial transfer from Everton which, according to some in the blue half of Liverpool, cost the club he had supported since childhood around £20 million in lost earnings.
The 24-year-old had been due to join Chelsea in August – when his valuation would have been considerably higher having had twice as long left on his Everton contract – only for the deal to collapse, leaving Everton to foot his rehabilitation bill.
Thanks to Wilshere, however, those Everton supporters finally have some sort of closure.
