David Moyes’ West Ham United future has been the subject of much speculation, so has he taken charge of the Irons for the final time?
West Ham may have secured survival in the Premier League, but if reports are to be believed, then their final day clash with Everton was always going to be a notable game with David Moyes’ future looking set to lie elsewhere.
It has been a mixed season for the Hammers since Moyes arrived. He has guided the team to safety and ensured that they finished 13th, but there have been times along the way where it appeared that they may end up in serious trouble, and the disconnect between the fans and the owners appears to be greater than it has been for a long time.
Whatever happens, Moyes does deserve praise for ensuring that the Hammers will be playing in the top flight next season – and if the final day game with his former club does prove to be the last game of his tenure, then he certainly got the chance to sign off in style.
A brace from Manuel Lanzini and another goal for Marko Arnautovic helped the Irons to a 3-1 win. And after the game, the players and staff took part in the customary lap of the pitch to pay tribute to the supporters.
If reports are to believed, then Moyes’ acknowledgement of the fans in the image below is not only an expression of his gratitude at the end of a long and difficult season, but it may also prove to be a wave goodbye from the 55-year-old.
Here is the image of the West Ham boss perhaps saying farewell to the Irons faithful…

He may not be the only person perhaps saying goodbye to the West Ham fans if the images from the game are to be read into. Transfermarkt shows that James Collins is out of contract in the summer, and his emotions after the game against the Toffees certainly hints that his second spell with the club is over…
