Ian Wright has taken to Twitter to post a photo after Arsenal progressed in the Europa League, but Tottenham didn’t following their 3-0 defeat.

At 8:25pm, Tottenham posted a tweet signalling full-time in their defeat to Dinamo Zagreb, and consequently, the end of their Europa League campaign.

At 8:27pm, Wright posted what seems to be an old photo of himself, open-mouthed, looking overjoyed and surprised.

The timing of his tweet was interesting – he simply couldn’t wait to express his joy at Tottenham’s exit from Europe.

In terms of Arsenal, it was the perfect night for the Gunners.

Mikel Arteta’s men progressed past Olympiacos by a 3-2 aggregate scoreline, despite losing the second leg 1-0.

Then, supporters were able to tune in to extra-time in Tottenham’s clash with Dinamo Zagreb, where they were embarrassingly knocked out.

It seems safe to say that Wright was happy with what the Europa League served up last night, and why wouldn’t he be?

The Gunners are now into the quarter-finals, and have a great chance of going all the way as the likes of Martin Ødegaard find their feet.

The Norwegian has scored two goals in his last three games, and helped inject some quality and intensity into Arsenal’s play after replacing Dani Ceballos in the 57th minute.

In our view, there’s no reason why Arsenal can’t go all the way.
