The Tigers boss watched the 11 goal striker in action v Reading.

The Championship came to an end yesterday, with real drama at the iPro Stadium. Derby County, who have looked as good as promoted for much of the campaign, have ended up finishing eighth after a 3-0 loss to Reading.

The club have dropped out of the top six for the first time since September, which is certainly a shocking fact to consider.

One man in attendance at the game was Hull City boss Steve Bruce. The Tigers manager was snapped in the stands as Derby threw away their promotion tilt.

His visit would have had several different reasons. Hull of course have a player out on loan at Derby. Tom Ince arrived from Blackpool last summer but has struggled to make it into the first-team at the KC Stadium.

He also struggled on a previous spell at Nottingham Forest on loan earlier this campaign but he has been a hit at Derby – scoring 11 goals in 18 games at the club.

But now Derby have failed to win promotion he might have also taken note of players at the club he would like to sign for Hull.

Will Hughes? Jeff Hendrick? Cyrus Christie?

Time will tell.
