Yesterday, Sky Germany claimed that Naby Keita is unhappy with his situation under Jürgen Klopp at Liverpool.

Florian Plettenburg revealed that the £50m man is no longer in talks with the Reds over a new contract as a result of his low morale at Anfield, and he could leave before the August 31st deadline.

Keita has already entered the final 12 months of his contract, so Liverpool have a decision to make.

Now, the Guinea international has been spotted in training after Sky Germany‘s significant news.

What’s the story?

Well, the 27-year-old wasn’t exactly all smiles at the AXA Training Centre earlier today, from what we’ve seen.

Of course, we were not privy to the entire session, but Keita cut a forlorn figure as he was mostly spotted alone during training.

The only photo we see of Keita interacting with his teammates is a picture of him appearing to disagree with Kostas Tsimikas over something, as Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino smile in the background.

It is possible that the photographers simply failed to catch the Liverpool No.8 smiling, but from what we can see, he certainly doesn’t seem to be in a bubbly mood on Merseyside.

It comes after Keita was given just five minutes of action in the Community Shield win over Manchester City, before failing to come off the bench against Crystal Palace – he wasn’t even in the squad for the draw with Fulham.

Liverpool must sell Naby Keita

As aforesaid, Keita has already entered the final 12 months of his contract at Liverpool, which didn’t put the Reds in the best negotiating position to begin with.

Now, after it was reported that the Guinean is unhappy, his value has dropped even more.

As a result, Liverpool must look to sell Keita before his stocks decreases further, and the funds must be reinvested into a new central midfielder – Klopp’s options in that department are seriously thin.

We highly doubt the Reds will receive anything close to the £50m they handed RB Leipzig for Keita’s signature, but at this point, Liverpool just need to cut their losses and move on.
