Wolverhampton Wanderers lost narrowly to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
Helder Costa could and probably should have opened his account for Wolverhampton Wanderers against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday night.
The 24-year-old striker missed a number of good opportunities – including one excellent one in the second half – as Wolves lost 3-2 to Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
It was 3-1 to Tottenham at the time of Costa’s miss, but Raul Jimenez converted a penalty two minutes later to pull another back for Nuno Espirito Santo’s troops at Molineux.
Costa has now gone 11 games without a Premier League goal which, for a striker, is a hell of a long time, and the man himself seemed to know how big the opportunity was after being photographed on the turf.
Tottenham had raced into a 2-0 half-time lead, with Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura netting before the half-hour mark, before Harry Kane ended the game as a contest on 67 minutes.
But two penalties from Ruben Neves and Jimenez gave Wolves a big lifeline with 11 minutes to go, though Spurs managed to hold off the fightback.
