Harry Kane and Cristiano Ronaldo both played crucial roles as Tottenham Hotspur drew 1-1 with Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Tottenham responded to many of their doubters on Tuesday night as they put in a spirited display to come away from their Champions League clash with Real Madrid in the Bernabeu with a 1-1 draw.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men failed to make a real impact in last year’s competition as they went out at the group-stages, but this year they appear to have already put one foot in the knockout stages after just three games.

They followed up wins over Borussia Dortmund and APOEL Nicosia with a draw with Los Blancos, with a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty cancelling out Spurs’ opener which came from a Raphael Varane own goal after Kane’s slight flick on a Serge Aurier cross left the Frenchman helpless.
The draw in the other group game means Tottenham are now six points clear with three games to go, and two of those games – the rematches with Real and APOEL – will take place at Wembley.
Therefore, it was undoubtedly a night where Tottenham proved that they deserved to be sat at Europe’s most elite table, and one photo perhaps best symbolises that fact.
Much of the talk leading up to the game surrounded Harry Kane and the incredible form that he has been in for club and country, and the image below arguably sums up how he is ready to share the stage with one of the greatest in the world in Ronaldo, and how Spurs are ready to share the stage with a club that has won Europe’s greatest prize in three of the last four seasons.
