Liverpool drew 1-1 with Burnley at Anfield on Saturday.
Liverpool dropped two points on Saturday following a 1-1 draw with Burnley.
Scott Arfield fired the Clarets ahead at Anfield on 27 minutes for what was their first and last shot on target in the full 90 minutes.
But summer signing Mo Salah restored parity for Liverpool on a day which saw Barcelona target Philippe Coutinho restored to the first XI following a hectic summer.
Jurgen Klopp’s side huffed and puffed for the remainder of the game but proved unsuccessful in finding a winner – even though Dominic Solanke missed a great chance late on.
Solanke, who replaced Coutinho, and £40 million signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain were introduced for the final 12 minutes but neither could provide the bit of inspiration Liverpool needed to snatch all three points.
The Reds are eighth in the Premier League, five points behind top-of-the-table Manchester City who romped to a 6-0 win at Watford.
