Tottenham Hotspur thumped Everton 3-0 at Goodison Park yesterday.

Tottenham Hotspur thumped Everton 3-0 at Goodison Park on Saturday to get a couple of difficult results out of their system.

Two goals from Harry Kane, either side of one from Christian Eriksen, did the damage for Tottenham as Mauricio Pochettino’s side got back into the swing of things.

Spurs travelled to Merseyside on the back of a 1-1 draw with Burnley, in which they conceded a 93rd-minute equaliser, having also lost 2-1 to Chelsea the previous week.

But Pochettino’s troops reaffirmed the belief that they are better away from home than they are at Wembley this season with a very comfortable win over the Toffees.

In doing so, Tottenham moved fifth in the Premier League table, three points behind leaders Manchester United who dropped two points away to Stoke City last night.

It could be an excellent season for the Lilywhites but they must fix their ‘home’ form as soon as possible and beating Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday in their Champions League opener might just bring about a turn-around in fortunes at Wembley.
