Leeds United’s second string had some unfamiliar faces in action this week.
Leeds United fans got their annual taste of mystery when the under-23s lined up with four trialists in their starting XI for the friendly against Tadcaster Albion on Tuesday evening, with another two unnamed players on the bench.
The four who kicked off the game were caught on camera in a photograph published by the hosts’ official Twitter account, and a quick bit of investigating appears to have highlighted the quartet, even if we are none the wiser as to who they actually are!
In the above picture, the players lining up fifth, eighth, ninth and tenth (from left to right) appear to be the trialists in question.
While the image is not as clear as it could be, it seems that the remaining Leeds players (again from left to right) are Jack McKay, Harrison Male, Romario Vieira, Paudie O’Connor, Tom Godden, Clarke Oduor and Eoghan Stokes.
If that is the case, Leeds fans can at least get some idea of the players currently aiming to impress and earn a contract at Elland Road in the process.

The match ended 1-1, with substitute Jamie Shackleton scoring for Leeds, and there were plenty of positives to take from the encounter.
Leeds’ under-23s had a campaign to forget last time out but, with a number of new faces and more potentially earning a deal of their own in due course, things are looking up.
