West Ham United’s move to the Olympic Stadium has not exactly proved a success so far. The club’s form has dipped and crowd trouble has marred recent fixtures.

Despite the size and stature of the new stadium there is no doubt that many a loyal West Ham fan is struggling to adapt to their new home, missing the incredible atmosphere at the Boleyn Ground.

Upton Park is now in the process of being demolished and it is a sight many a West Ham fan struggles to see.

The same goes for former players.

Marlon Harewood spent four successful years at West Ham before joining Aston Villa in 2007. It is his spell with West Ham he is perhaps best known for.

He sent this tweet earlier today, highlighting his disappointment at seeing his old home ground being reduced to rubble:

West Ham fans understand why they had to make the move to their new stadium and the benefits of doing so.

However, the Boleyn Ground will always remain the spiritual home of West Ham and players like Harewood will never forget it.
