Leeds United have a new international appointment.
Leeds United welcomed a special guest at Elland Road this weekend as former Japan international Toshiya Fujita made an appearance.
Fujita was a guest of owner Andrea Radrizzani – and will be undertaking a new job at Leeds United.
Fujita was working previously as a coach at Dutch side VVV Venlo.
He is now set to become a ‘head of football development’ with Leeds, working with the club’s academy.
He already has coaching licenses from his time in Japan, and will push to gain full UEFA accreditation while at Elland Road, Yahoo Japan report.
He said: “My final goal is to manage in Europe.”
Fujita, 45, enjoyed a productive career as a player, racking up more than 500 appearances.

Japan’s Alex (3-L) celebrates with Toshiya Fujita (2L-#16) and teammates at the end of their Asian Cup final win in 2004.
As a midfielder he played mostly for Japanese side Jubilo Iwata and Nagoya Grampus Eight, and had a brief loan spell in Holland for Utrecht.
He earned 23 international caps for Japan, scoring three goals, which included one which helped them qualify for the 2006 World Cup.
One of the goals came in the 1995 Umbro Cup at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground, a 2-2 draw against a Sweden side which included ex-Leeds loan defender Teddy Lucic.
